2024 Wessex Cyclo-cross League AGM

7pm Wednesday 13th March 2024
South Downs Social Club
3-4 Kings Walk, Winchester, S023 8AF

Hopefully you have all enjoyed this season of #Probablythebestcxleagueintheworld ? Well following on from the Awards Night on the 2nd March the Committee will be hosting the Wessex CX AGM on the 13th March. This will be held again at the South Downs Social Club in Winchester and is your opportunity to help shape and improve the League.

We think the league is already pretty good thanks to the brilliant race organisers and clubs that run the events and the amazing riders who turn up at every round, whatever the conditions. But there is always something we can improve so if you think there is some way we can make things better please let us know!

As usual the committee will be elected as part of the meeting. Ian McDonald is stepping down from his role as Commissaire Coordinator (don’t worry, you’ll still see him at plenty of races!) and Alan Collins has offered to take over his responsibilities.

This leaves vacancies for the following roles:

Riders Representative: To represent the views of League riders on the Committee.

Sponsorship and Promotions Officer: Support the League in dealing with sponsorship and promotional opportunities.

All other current committee members are standing for re-election. If you would like to be considered for any of the Committee roles or require more information please contact info@wessexcyclocross.co.uk

Proposals for rule changes and committee positions can be submitted, and seconded, by any member of an affiliated club or an affiliated rider and should be submitted by 23:59 on Friday 23rd February. Proposals will be shared via a Newsletter, Wessex CX website and the usual social media feeds at the start of March so you’ll have a chance to review them before the AGM.

So please consider what you like and dislike about the league and what (if anything!) you would like to change and submit your proposals to:
Include: Proposer, Seconder, your proposal and a brief explanation – if required.

And if you think you’d like to get even more involved and run your own event we have created an Organisers Handbook to help guide you along. Within the committee we probably have over a hundred years’ worth of combined experience of running events and will give any first time organisers all they help they require.
