Hi all, AGM update! During the AGM, attendees requested that the Committee revise their race schedule proposal and re-submit to those who attended the AGM for another vote. This process has now been completed and the minutes have been updated accordingly.
Some notes from the committee on the reasoning behind the updated proposal:
“Why are we keen to review the schedule? From U8 through to U16 the Wessex League stands out as having the highest participation numbers across the country, but sadly this isn’t same case for Junior and U23/Senior riders. With this in mind, the League Committee members have a desire to create a pathway for U8/10/12 and Youth riders that is more appealing than the current one and will hopefully help them to stay with the cyclocross league for as long as possible.
It is widely understood that there are many factors, meaning it is sometimes difficult for late teens and young adults to continue their CX journey but we hope that the proposed schedule will help remove some of the barriers, and make the idea of racing as a Junior/U23/Senior much more possible. The revised schedule allows riders to race as near as possible to their current time so will hopefully have less impact of on their travel commitments, their responsibilities to other riders and their life outside of CX.”
Thanks again to those who attended the AGM and voted on the amended schedule.
