World Cyclo-Cross Championships Valkenburg, The Netherlands 2018

Mark Chick is again organising a coach trip to the World Cyclo-Cross Championships which in 2018 will be held at Valkenburg in The Netherlands.

Following the success of the trip to Zolder, Belgium in 2016 and to Bieles, Luxembourg this year for the Cyclo-Cross World Championships, I am putting on a trip to the 2018 World Championships, being held in Valkenburg, The Netherlands.

Last year’s trip was full. Even though it is relatively early for the next trip, it is already almost three-quarters full from those who went to Luxembourg booking up to go again. There are just 14 places left.

The coach will depart from Swindon early morning on Friday 2nd February around 06.00 and will travel via the Channel Tunnel (to save time and avoid any delays due to bad weather). The coach is air-conditioned with an on-board toilet and DVD player.

Three nights on a bed and breakfast basis at the Hotel Schaepkens in Valkenburg, The Netherlands, in mainly twin bedded rooms. Some double and single rooms are available. The hotel is less than a mile from the race venue, so promises fantastic convenience, atmosphere and maybe even the odd team staying there.

Returning Monday 5th February, arriving in Swindon in the evening, around 20.00.

Trip includes:

• Coach travel from Swindon to Valkenburg, including agreed pick-up points on the way along the M4, M25, M26 and M20
• Three nights bed & breakfast
• Coach travel from the hotel to the race and back on Saturday and Sunday, if required (as the distance is so short)
• Return coach travel to Swindon, including a hypermarket stop, time permitting.

Race entry tickets are purchased separately.

The final price per person will depend on the final number of passengers going on the trip, as follows:

Minimum 25 persons: £309
Minimum 30 persons: £289
Minimum 35 persons: £269
Minimum 40 persons: £259

If you wish to book a place, I must ask that you do so on the understanding the final price may be up to £309 per person. I hope it proves to be less. In 2017 the trip to Bieles was full and as mentioned above, this trip is already filling up.

I will advise the total price in mid-October when the balance for the trip falls due. If the price falls after final balances have been paid, as was the case in 2016 when we went to Zolder and to Bieles in 2017, I will refund the difference.

Single rooms are available at an additional supplement of £48.

Children are very welcome to come along and enjoy the trip. Any persons under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.

Please arrange your own travel insurance and obtain an EHIC (European Health Insurance Card). No insurance is included within the price of the trip.
