Annual General Meeting

To be held on Friday 7th April 2017, at 19.15hrs, in Room PD 102, the Product Design Block at Peter Symonds College, Owens Road, Winchester SO22 6RX

Anyone can attend the meeting but only League Members and two people from each Affiliated Club can actually vote at meeting.

This is the forum in which if you feel something needs changing or you have any ideas that will improve our local races can be put forward a proposal.

Any proposal must have one Proposer and one Seconder

The Proposer and Seconder must be either a League Member or a member of an Affiliated Club.

The Wessex Cyclo-Cross League is run by a team of volunteers as sometimes happens a number of Committee members have decided to stand down at this AGM.

Accordingly new Committee Members are required to ensure the League does not fold.

The vacancies are:-

General Secretary

Ian Macdonald is standing down from this Role.

This is an involved role and because the size of League the role has massively grown so it will be split as detailed below.

The new roles will be:-

General Secretary

The Secretary is often first point of contact for all new and existing riders and clubs. The General Secretary needs to either deal with these questions or pass them on to the relevant League Official.

Typical duties will include; informing first time riders how they get involved with Cyclo Cross, informing riders on how the Cyclo Cross procedures and rules work (e.g. gridding, BC membership), informing everyone of new events, detailing material changes to the League and liaising with other Members of the Committee.

Minute Secretary

AGM: Arranging date, compiling Agenda, taking minutes of meeting and writing

minutes out afterwards, releasing minutes to all.

Meetings: Taking any minutes for any Committee meetings that take place during season

Event Manager / Logistic coordinator (Might be shared between a few people)

This covers inspecting possible new courses, talking new organisers through running an event, being on hand during any event to guide organisers through procedure, being the Wessex representative on hand.

Making sure all required event material is at each event e.g. Numbers, pins, podium, event paperwork, signs etc.

Event coordinator

Darren Strickland is standing down from this Role.

This Role involves arranging the Racing Calendar and liaising with existing and potential new Organisers. Passing on all event information.

Website Administrator

Sean Bolton is standing down from this Role

This involves running the Wessex Website.

Now is the time to step forward and show us what you can do.

If you are interested and need more information please contact Ian Macdonald or Kerie Wallace

It is very important that we get people to fill these Roles, if we don’t the League will not take place next season.

This sounds quite dramatic but it is what happens when there are no volunteers to do the behind the scenes stuff.

We will be on hand to guide anyone through what is involved in all the Roles, we will not just assume you will start and know what is involved.

All Proposals and Role Nominations must reach Ian Macdonald by Friday 17th March
