Richard Lewis (CC Basingstoke) led from start to finish on his way to a win at the first ever Wessex Cyclo Cross race to be held on the Isle of Wight. From the whistle Richard eased away from Tony Parker (NHRC) gaining a few seconds on each lap until he had the race under control and then kept a steady rhythm as the laps ticked down. Report Rnd 2, Oxonian CC, 14th Sept 2014

Ben Sumner (Beeline Cycles) made it two from two in the Wessex League comfortably winning the latest round at the Oxford Spire Academy in Cowley. The nearest rider to Ben was Paul Lloyd (Rides on Air) with Crispin Doyle (Hargroves Cycles) taking the third step on the podium after winning the earlier combined vets race. The course at the academy had a verity of terrain for the riders to navigate their way around. There was a very technical wooded section, two large football fields and two leg killing climbs. Report Rnd 1, Newbury, 6th Sep 2014

Ben Sumner (Beeline Cycles) was the winner at the first round of the new season with a commanding win leading from the front. The 21 year old rider from Pangbourne took the lead early on the opening lap and was never challenged. The opening round saw riders converse on Mary Hare School to the north of Newbury on what turned out to be a nice warm sunny day. Isle of Wight Cycling Festival

The Wessex League Round 3 will be hosted on the Isle of Wight this year. The cyclo-cross race is part of a series of cycling events in the Isle of Wight Cycling Festival. The cyclo-cross race takes place on the Saturday and on the Sunday is the Cycle The Wight Sportive, a 70 mile or 50 mile ride around the island.
